Cuban expert examines benefits of multi-destination agreement

The Cuban professor and researcher José Luís Perelló examined this Monday the benefits of a new multi-destination agreement promoted by the Ministers of Tourism of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA). He points out on his Facebook account that this agreement came from Venezuela, with the creation of a free transit area, in order to offer multi-destination products.

According to the official press release, it was agreed to consider the study of the implementation of an ALBA electronic visa, identify the strategy and approach to target markets, hold in 2026 the first edition of a tourism fair of the organization, train professionals in the area and simplify migration processes between the 10 member countries.

The Minister of Tourism of Venezuela, Leticia Gómez, and the Vice Minister of Tourism of Cuba, Yamily Aldama Valdéz, agreed to continue strengthening the sector by creating mechanisms that facilitate the integration and promotion of tourist routes, through air, sea and land routes. For his part, the executive secretary of ALBA, Jorge Arreaza, highlighted that tourism is an integration tool and a mechanism to promote trade, profits and to boost the economy. Currently, ALBA has 10 members (Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Grenada, Nicaragua, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Venezuela) and three special guests (Syria, Haiti and Suriname), concluded Perelló's review.
