Cuban Tourism Authorities Commend Success of FITCuba 2026

The 44th edition of the International Tourism Fair, FITCuba 2026, held virtually, concluded this Friday with robust results. The event facilitated countless professional engagements and exchanges, serving as a vital platform for forging alliances that transcend borders.

These assessments were shared by Cuba’s Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granda, during an executive summary of the event broadcast via YouTube.

Minister García Granda emphasized that the fair presented an invaluable opportunity to engage with industry professionals from across the globe who maintain a keen interest in Cuba as a market.

He noted that the event was a resounding success, despite the challenges posed by threats and unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States.

The Minister further stated that the gathering served to reaffirm Cuba's standing as an authentic, safe, and diverse destination, prepared to welcome the world and continue building on its significant offerings. He highlighted that holding the fair in a virtual format marks a significant milestone in the sector's modernization, showcasing the country’s resilience and capacity to adapt to new digital landscapes.

In his closing remarks, he expressed his gratitude to the more than one thousand participating professionals, speakers, organizers, and collaborators who made the event possible, with a special tribute to the Cuban tourism workforce.

"Their commitment and enthusiasm are the ultimate guarantee that tourism will remain a primary engine for economic, social, and cultural development," he said.

"Cuba awaits you, as always, with open arms, our unique history, and the warmth of our people," he concluded.
