Cuban Tourism Day, a celebration that cannot be missed

Nobody forgets in these parts the now distant November 20, 1959 when, with the invitation to “Get to know Cuba first and abroad, later” the National Institute of the Tourism Industry was founded in the country (INIT) to promote what years later, after multiple stages, setbacks and a determined push by the authorities today, has become the locomotive of the Cuban economy.

Although the country makes great efforts to develop other sources oftproductive and fresh financial income to the nation, tourism today is called to continue among the pillars of the economy, so that expansion and diversification programs are a reality and their progress are cause for beautiful celebrations within their own areas, as well as in other concomitant sectors that will also advance driven by their demands.

On a day like today it must be said that Cuban Tourism tries to harmonize better, then, the close synergy that is already observed between the dynamic sector and the rest of society, from the productive assets that are taxed, even the network of hotel facilities, restaurants, heritage cities and historic centers. Step by step, even gripped by the enemy blockade that the world knows, although perhaps it is not calculated in its dimension and rigor, Cubans have slowly been recovering from the devastation caused to that shift of leisure and solace due to the COVID-19 pandemic, devastating the planet.

There are already encouraging figures, very stimulating, of this gradual growth and is offered with joy on a day like today for the promising future, if things continue as they are going, with the undeniable return to the empowerment of the main course, the formidable network of Cuban spas, which make this destination a paradise of sun and beach.

Last year the Tourism Fair was held in the spa of Varadero, a privileged enclave of our geography that is between the favorites of travelers from numerous places around the world, as well as the Edenic Keys of Jardines del Rey, Santamaría and Cayo Largo del Sur, next to Guardalavaca. Another very seductive and attractive source for vacationers in Cuba is the network of wild sites of relevant natural beauty, both for their fascinating landscapes as well as their valuable treasures of flora and fauna.

Cuban fauna is in very careful and preserved ecosystems, both in terrestrial and marine surfaces. Without forgetting the beautiful Cuban capital, the city of Havana, one of the most attractive centers of the country, with its Historic Center full of beauty and legends, its theaters, museums, beaches and many more seductions. A big congratulations to all the workers in this sector in your day, and the greatest wishes that you achieve many successes in your work that, in the end, is a success for all of Cuba.
