Cuban Tourism to Show Potential in Portugal

The Cuban travel industry will exhibit its potentialities at the 31st International Tourism Fair BTL 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal, said Tuesday an official statement.

Cuban Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) note, added that this meeting will be held between March 13 and 17 at its usual headquarters AIP-Feiras in Lisbon. A Cuban delegation composed of Mintur experts and representatives of the Embassy of Cuba in Portugal, Guama-Havanatur and the hotel groups, Cubanacan, Melia, Iberostar and Labranda, will attened te meeting. The Portuguese market continues to be of great importance for Cuban tourism, reaching in 2018 growth of 16.6 percent in its issuance to the destination, said the report on Tuesday. It insists that the authorities continue working to achieve a greater positioning of Cuba in Portugal. This promotion&ás objective includes the Cuban proposals to diversify products and modalities to be traded in this market, such as diving, nautical, nature, routes and circuits, heritage cities, events and incentives, cultural and health tourism. One of the objectives in this Fair, is to strengthen ties with Portuguese tour operators of great importance for Cuba, and to support charter flights to the destinations of Varadero and Jardines del Rey. For these purposes, Cuban delegation will hold negotiations for next year, and will update on the new facilities and services openings, as well as lines of business to be worked with the Mintur. As part of Cuba's participation in the BTL, it will be invited to participate in the International Tourism Fair (Fitcuba) 2019 scheduled from May 6 to 11.
