Canadian magazine CubaPlus has recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with the presence of numerous personalities of the diplomatic corps accredited in Cuba, directors of the Latin American News Agency, Prensa Latina ( co-editor of the publication ) , director of the International Press Centre, Raúl González, as well as executives of the Cuban tourism sector and other related entities.
Main reporter for the magazine, Mercedes Ramos, welcomed guests and talked about the magazine’s promotional work done since its creation. Dominic Soave, CubaPlus’ Director presented the 40th edition and referred to the important contribution of Prensa Latina in this project which has been instrumental in the magazine’s presence in Canadian and American markets as well as in many countries in Latin America. He also delivered recognition certificates to the workers of the Agency for their excellent contribution.
Commercial Vice President of Prensa Latina, Edilberto Méndez, referred to the idea that led to he creation of Cubaplus Magazine 10 years ago and which has led to a greater understanding of Cuban culture, tourism, health and traditions in those markets.
The celebration featured performances by choirs :Vocal Leo (Cuba), under the direction of the teacher Corina Campos and Castle Ton (Canada), under the baton of director Sherrill Blodgett and popular group known ‘Los Papines’ with talented percussionist Mary Paz as guest.
The celebration took place at the Havana Club Hall, located in Miramar, in Havana’s Playa municipality.
