The 44th International Tourism Fair (FITCuba 2026) is scheduled to take place from May 6th to 10th in the resort city of Varadero, located in the western province of Matanzas. This year, the event is set to place Cuba’s world-renowned beaches at the very heart of its agenda.
Organizers have confirmed that this edition will be dedicated to the "Sun and Beach" segment, with Canada as the Guest of Honor. Consequently, the preservation and promotion of the Cuban coastline have become the primary focus for this year’s summit.
Cuba’s beaches consistently rank among the top choices for island tourism, a status earned through their exceptional conservation, natural beauty, and sheer variety—qualities that remain a hallmark in 2026. This assessment is supported by both industry experts and the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur), noting that despite the diversification of Cuba’s travel offerings, beach getaways remain the preferred choice for both international visitors and local travelers alike.
The draw lies in the combination of golden sands, turquoise waters, and a sense of history that many travelers find themselves returning to time and again. With over 5,746 kilometers of coastline and an archipelago comprising more than 4,000 cays and islands, Cuba is a sanctuary for those seeking the perfect harmony of sun, sand, and sea.
According to the National Institute of Oceanology, the country boasts approximately 430 natural beaches. Of these, nearly 50 possess the high-level infrastructure required to sustain international tourism. Their warm waters, fine sand, coral reefs, and privileged geographical position establish Cuba as a first-rate global destination.
