The 27th International Dance Festival in Urban Landscapes will be back on Havana streets. Scheduled for April 21 to 23, the event, known as Habana Vieja, Ciudad en Movimiento (Old Havana, a City in Movement), will take place in emblematic sites of the the Cuban capital, including the Arms Square and Las Carolinas, which have become the main venues for public performances.
On this occasion, the street dance meeting invites to participate in person with projects of up to 10 minutes, which must be sent to the Organizing Committee accompanied by a technical card containing the necessary information, the Danza Teatro Retazos Company informed on its Facebook profile.
Presided over by teacher and choreographer Isabel Bustos, the event is among the most popular on Cuban dance at the international level, so the call seeks to gather the largest number of participants, who could complete the registration by April 10, 2023.
After the registration of the candidates, the organizers will promptly notify the selected choreographers and companies, which will perform at the different venues chosen for the public presentations.
The usual master classes, lectures, panels, staging, exhibitions and video screenings will take place, as well as the International Festival of Videodanza DV Danza Habana, Movimiento y Ciudad, a platform that showcases the link between both expressions.
