Diving in Cuba: Enchanted seabed

There is no doubt that the extreme sport of diving in the wonderful seabed of the Cuban island platform is one of the greatest temptations for vacationers from all over the world who opt for the sun and beach modality in the largest of the Antilles.

Beyond the enchantment of the depths of the Caribbean Sea and North Atlantic that calls to practice it, the great professionalism with which their actions are handled, supported by teams of qualified divers, licensed in the specialty, with the necessary equipment and insurance, constitute a guarantee.

It is an activity that is taken very seriously, not only in the field of scientific research. This service provided to tourism has been of the highest quality since diving began as a major tourism modality and with specific projects in the late 1970s.

So the recovery of the tourism sector, after the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic, must also go through the gradual rise of marinas and hotel facilities on the coast, beaches and keys that offer competent services.

This is guaranteed because Cuba is an archipelago -the largest in its area- with more than 300 seductive beaches and more than 4,000 islets and keys, nestled in a dreamlike marine platform, where you can see to the north, one of the largest biodiverse coral reefs in the world.

In addition, the fauna, rich in multicolored fish and varied species, is reputed to be one of the most beautiful in the world. Of course, hunting is prohibited in Cuban platform diving. Only the marking of the specimens when there are competitive festivals, filming and photography.

The diving activities are carried out by the Cuban Federation of Underwater Activities, FCAS. As can be deduced, you should not miss the opportunity to contact it when the new takeoff of tourism in Cuba occurs.

The Cuban bottoms are characterized by waters of great transparency and average horizontal visibility of 30 meters, gentle tides and current systems on both coasts. Coral reefs grow in more than 98 percent of the edge of the platform with incredible underwater landscapes that invite divers.
