New policies for English language learning caught the attention of the International Congress University 2018 which takes place in the Havana International Conference Center, a Cuban professor highlighted.
The initiative proposes an approach to the experiences about English training based on the European Common Framework for university professors, which were carried out last year in all country by the Ministry of Higher Education (MES) and the national branch of the British Council.
Estrella Maria de la Paz Martinez, Postgraduate Director of the Central University Marta Abreu (located in Las Villas province, in the central part of the country) and promoter of the initiative, explained that the aim of the program is to improve English's teaching.
At the same time, -she added-, to contribute to an all-round education in the Cuban universities.
De la Paz Martinez assured that to visualize good results should be necessary to socialize the workshops taught in all the universities and to look for other ways which ensure a better professor’s training.
"The experience achieved in the Central University establishes a global methodological overview of the results gotten in the planning, organization and certification of the expected English language professor’s training; we can start in this point", the pedagogy doctor said.
Likewise, she added that these steps are integral part of the higher education’s transformation process, included in the MES strategic planning for the period 2017-2021.
The International Congress University 2018 will be in session until next 16 in the slogan of &The university and the calendar 2030 for the sustainable development" and during several days were carried out Conferences, Round Tables and Panels which deal the most urgent problems of the higher education in our countries.
