The Failde Orchestra, a staple of danzon national dance, one of Cuba's traditional musical genre, is currently on the list of voting members of the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, awarder of the Grammy Latin awards.

Flutist and musical director, Ethiel Failde, tweeted making public the election that highlights the worth of the ensemble, which has revitalized a century of music in Cuba.

With the acceptance, the representatives of the Cuban music will be able to participate in the voting and delivery process of the Latin Grammy Awards, and will add their voice and professional experience within the community that distinguishes Latin music.

The band has won accolades in and out of the island, including by the Jazz Wise magazine, one of the most important magazines in the United Kingdom dedicated to the genre, which highlighted the band's sound quality and collaborations with artists such as iconic singer Omara Portuondo.

The Cuban ensemble represented its country recently during the Concert for Cuba initiative, convened by the Chicago HotHouse, which united voices from around the world in a song of solidarity with Cuba.

Also noteworthy is its performance in the series of online recitals sponsored by the Cuban Ministry of Culture and the Institute of Music, which advocates for social isolation and enhances the value of art in times of pandemic.
