Fecons 2024 International Construction Fair opened its doors

With over 120 companies from 13 countries, opened this Tuesday the International Construction Fair Fecons 2024 in the halls of the capital venue of Pabexpo.

Speaking at the opening, the first deputy minister of the Ministry of Construction (Micons), Ángel Vilaragut Montes de Oca, highlighted the importance of the event as it will enable attendees to exchange experiences on topics related to the sector, the promotion of new technologies, materials and services in favor of modernizing this national industry.

opens-fecons-2024-4.jpgHe also said that the exhibition will contribute to raise productivity levels and competitiveness, promote value chains, articulate various forms of management and ownership; develop exports; diversify the portfolio and promote direct foreign investment. Later, he referred to Cuba's efforts to modernize construction, taking advantage of the experience that Russia, the guest of honor country at the event, has, as well, the links that arise during this occasion.

For his part, the president of the National Association of Builders of Russia, Anton Nicolayevich said there are several plans for the organization of productive companies and the export of materials from Cuba. The Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés also attended the opening of the fair. Menéndez, the Minister of Construction René Mesa Villafaña, Russian ambassador to Cuba Víctor V. Koronelli and construction specialists and professionals.

The exhibition, which will run until next Friday, will have a parallel event at the Havana Convention Palace starting tomorrow Wednesday: the Conference International Construction Scientist, with the participation of notable and experienced Russian and other academics.
