First institution of the travel industry in Cuba celebrates 62nd Anniversary
Cuba celebrates this Saturday the 62nd anniversary of the creation of the National Institute of the Tourism Industry (INIT), with which this sector began to develop after 1959, and the Cuban Tourism Day, established since 2019, as a tribute to all workers and institutions of that important economic branch of the country.
An official statement from the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) adds that "in this framework, we want to recognize all workers in the tourism industry who supported the country during the pandemic, caused by COVID-19, becoming the more than 200 brigades "Elpidio C. Sosa González", working in the red zones, preparing hotels and campsites to turn them into isolation centers and guaranteeing food, transportation and support for medical personnel, sparing no effort or schedule ".
With the reopening of tourism, this November 15, the industry gradually resumed its dynamism, the information indicates. "The mission continues to be the same: to boost the economy and generate income while raising the quality and well-being of the Cuban people," concludes the message.
