The 41st FitCUBA 2023 International Tourism Fair concluded in Havana with great success, since it allowed to widely show the potential of this sector in the country, as well as its beauties and natural resources and above all the heritage and hospitality of Cubans.
Speaking at the closing ceremony this Thursday, the Minister of Tourism (Mintur), Juan Carlos García Granda, also stressed that the event served as a stage to strengthen trade relations, establish new contacts, alliances, incentives and agreements that will contribute to the development sustainable of Cuban tourism.
Later, he meant that the success of the event demonstrated Cuba's organizational capacity for this type of event, since at the same time several international meetings have been taking place, such as the International Solidarity Event with Cuba, the International Congress of Cultural Heritage, the Meeting of Tourism of the 77+China Group and the International Tournament White Cap Chess in Memoriam, among others.
During the work days of the fair, he said, the air and maritime infrastructure and renovated hotel facilities were revealed, especially four and five stars, as well as a varied nightlife in Havana and added in this regard that, for this, the authorities are advancing modernization of the recreational offer by incorporating cutting-edge and innovative technologies.
He also announced that the 42nd edition of FitCUBA will take place next year in Jardines del Rey in the north-central region and will be dedicated to Latin America and the Caribbean.
Finally, García Granda thanked the 1,600 delegates from 41 countries, including representatives of 51 airlines, for their attendance to the event held from May 1 to 4 at the Morro-Cabaña Military Historical Park, which reflects their interest in Cuba and considered them essential for the recovery of tourism in this nation.
After the closure, held in the protocol rooms of the Council of State of El Laguito, in Havana, the head of tourism told the press that the Mintur has its sights set on the increase in travelers coming from Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil and Caribbean nations.
He recalled Jardines del Rey, and its main territory, Cayo Coco, the second vacation destination in Cuba, after the Varadero resort. An attractive place due to its geography, made up mainly of keys, virgin beaches and modern facilities.
