The post-tour program of the 41st International Tourism Fair (FitCUBA 2023) concluded today after 6 days touring various destinations in the country, including the cities of Havana, Trinidad, Cienfuegos and the northern keys of Villa Clara.
For almost a week, tour operators, representatives of travel agencies and the specialized press from more than 50 countries that attended FitCUBA were updated on the offers of those sites, which contributed to expand knowledge about the benefits, beauties and services of the different places visited.
In the Cuban capital they visited the Convent of Belén, the first Baroque building in Old Havana, which currently functions as a residence for the elderly, financed by the City Historian's Office. In the southern city of Cienfuegos they arrived at the Terry Theater, the Ferrer Palace, among other places of interest, and took a tour of the Paseo del Prado to the statue of the "Sonero Mayor de Cuba" Benny Moré. In Trinidad, they visited the entire Ancón peninsula, where the Meliá Trinidad Peninsula and Memories Trinidad del Mar hotels are located, in whose 5- and 4-star accommodations, respectively, they were informed about their services.
The Plaza Mayor, the city church and the La Canchánchara Tavern were also part of the tour and, in this last establishment, they enjoyed the famous drink of the same name, prepared with rum, honey and lemon. The Valle de los Ingenios and the beautiful Manaca Iznaga Tower were included in the visit program. A spectacular night was enjoyed by all guests in Remedios, where they witnessed a demonstration of the famous Parrandas, a revelry of great tradition that takes place every December there with beautiful floats, lampposts, fireworks and colorful costumes, made by the residents of that city. Also in Remedios they visited, among other places, the Parrandas Museum, the local church and the Sugar Agroindustry Museum in the nearby town of La Reforma.
The last two days of the tour took place in the northern keys of Villa Clara, including Cayo Las Brujas, Ensenachos and Santa María, a spectacular sun and beach destination operated by the Gaviota group. There , the director of Gaviota Tours Cuba, Aile de las Mercedes Cabrera, and the head of sales of that entity, Iroel Ruiz, explained details of Therethis place, preferred above all by the Canadian market. In total, these three keys have 22 accommodations for a total of 12,683 rooms and include, in addition to the hotel services, a marina, a dolphinarium and other attractions to provide tourists with a very pleasant vacation.
