Juan Carlos García Granda, Cuban Minister of Tourism, officially inaugurated this Thursday the 4th Ibero-American Summit of Accessible Tourism that is taking place in the Cuban capital with the presence of over 100 delegates from 14 countries of five continents.
When welcoming the attendees, García Granda highlighted the importance of this meeting and thanked Cuba for the opportunity to host it, which will allow him to show all that he is doing to achieve more accessible and inclusive tourism.
Our country, he added, wants to be recognized as a safe destination of peace, health, well-being, nature, culture and also for its attributes of accessibility. During the opening of this event, participants also received the message, through a video, sent by Zurab Pololikashvill, Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), who expressed the importance of this meeting for the travel industry.
Also in the morning session, the president of the Ibero-American Accessible Tourism Network, Diego Javier González Velasco, gave a keynote address on the importance of accessible and inclusive tourism in post-covid-19 travel.
The summit, which will conclude tomorrow, Friday, takes place at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, a facility that will receive the universal accessibility certification that accredits it with the necessary conditions to serve this market segment.
