The most anticipated event for aficionados of fine smoking, the Habanos International Festival, will return to the Cuban capital next February, much to the delight of its followers, according to organizers.
This edition, the XXVI, will take place from February 23rd to 27th and the main highlight will be the iconic Cohiba brand, celebrating its 60th anniversary. Cohiba is intrinsically linked to the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, who favored it as his preferred cigar during his years as a smoker.
According to a statement released by Habanos S.A., participants will, as in previous editions, be able to discover new offerings, exchange opinions and experiences on the subject, and, of course, sample the finest tobacco in the world.
Dinners, pairings, special cigars, presentations, talks, conferences, exhibitions, as well as the traditional visits to the plantations of Pinar del Río and to the cigar factories, will take place throughout the five days of intense activity, culminating in the celebration of the grand humidor auction, the proceeds of which will be donated to Cuba's public health system.
The Habanos International Festival has been held in Cuba since 1994, and each edition welcomes more than a thousand participants from around 70 countries worldwide, including business leaders in the sector, professionals, artists, specialized press, and, in general, aficionados of the art of fine smoking.
