The Havana Club Rum Museum won the World's Leading Rum Distillery award at the 2024 World Travel Awards, for the third consecutive year, which is a recognition of Cuba's vast cultural wealth and the importance of continuing to promote the country's rich legacy of traditions.
According to information released Tuesday by Havana Club International S.A., the brand continues to reap successes and legitimize its seal of excellence at an international level and also achieved recognition for its rums in the Women's in Wine & Spirits Awards competition.
The rums won a total of 6 medals, 4 of which are gold. Below are the results: The gold medals went to HC 7 years, HC Gran Reserva Añejo 15 Years, HC Smoky and HC Tributo 2023, while HC Original Añejo 3 Years won silver and HC Añejo Especial won bronze. This brings the number of awards won in 2024 to 58 and 518 since 1994.
Created in November 1993 by the Cuban company Cuba Ron S.A., responsible for rum production, and the French Pernod Ricard Group, with the aim of developing the Havana Club brand internationally through Pernod Ricard's strong distribution network, Havana Club is today one of the Group's 13 main spirits brands, exported to more than 125 countries around the world (excluding the USA where Cuban products are banned due to the trade embargo); it is the world leader in premium and superior rums and in the fiscal period 2024 achieving an 8% growth.
