The Pedro Marrero and La Polar stadiums in Havana will host the 3rd Cuban Women''s Football League, which will begin on Sep 24, according to the Cuban Football Association (AFC).
The tournament will have participants from the provinces of Artemisa, Villa Clara, Camagüey, Granma, Santiago de Cuba, as well as Havana, and will be played by the system of all against all at one round. At the end of the classification phase, there will be two semifinals between first and fourth place, as well as between second and third. The winning teams will go for gold and the losing teams for bronze in matches to be played on Oct 7. The AFC also indicated that there will be three daily matches, one on the Marrero field, the current home of the island's national teams, and two on La Polar's synthetic grass. The convention of the event, where the final details will be determined and the schedule will be approved, will be on September 23rd. Havana's team won the crown of the past two editions, the last one held in the central-eastern province of Camagüey.
