Havana’s 500th Birthday Maeked with Vintage Cars Rally

Havanais full of old cars of different models and brands, among them Ford, Chevrolet, Plymouth, Cadillac  and even Russian Ladas, some of which are more than 100 years old  and what a better celebration of five centuries of the Cuban capital than with a rally of those vintage cars.

Precisely this Sunday, the Club of Old Cars &The Cuban Way" summoned its members at the emblematic ansd famous Tropicana Cabaret also about to mar kits 85th birthday, to celebrate the capital’s 500th anniversary of its foundation, on November 16, 2019.

This 16th Rally of Regularity Castrol Cup is also celebrating the 120th anniversary of the arrival of the first automobile to the island, sent from France with the Brand Le Parisien, as wwell as the 15th anniversary of the creation of the Club.

The Route was only known two minutes before the signal to start the race, early this Sunday morning and in which participated 60 automobiles and 10 motorcycles, in a great motor show.

The teams leading each automobile are formed by two drivers, pilot and co-pilot. The latter is in charge of making the math of time of the route that lasted two hours each, with a frequency of starting time between cars of one minute.

Something very imnportant to highlight in the rules is to strictly follow traffic laws according to the code officially established, as the driver who infringes rules is automatically disqualified.

For several hours Havana dwellers enjoyed the great show that filled with joy kids and grownups seeing such enthusiasm among drivers that made this a day of tribute to darling Havana.
