The International Group of Tour Operators and Travel Agencies Havanatur S.A. It has been proposed to launch eastern Cuba as a destination not only for its indisputable beauties and attributes, but due to the conditions it has, considered the General Director of the agency, Yoelkis Salazar.
At a press conference, regarding the MegaFam “Dare to Live it, Cuba awaits you” that develops Havanatur for its 45th anniversary, the executive explained that this region of the country has adequate conditions for multi-destination such as air connections strategic flights from Holguín and Santiago de Cuba from Europe and also from Central America, without counting the Caribbean and its joint efforts by the States of the region that advocate the development of multi-destination as a complementarity of products in the offer to attract a greater influx of tourists to this important square.
It also meant the attractions that the eastern area contains from a geographical point of view, historical-heritage and cultural, as well as the potential with a view to the housing future to consolidate it as an important development area. He also said that in 2009 this circuit was launched to position it by opening new destination proposals to potential travelers, even when the conditions did not exist. After that we have been working on modifications and incorporating new facilities, which is why the east is renewed.
It doesn't look anything like what it was. It now has a modernized hotel plant, in accordance with international standards, which logically will benefit the circuit. For all this, he added, and because this region was little known, Havanatur decided to carry out this MegaFam, which is attended by an unprecedented number, more than 400 tour operators and representatives of travel agencies from 20 countries, which has exceeded our expectations.
Now we can say that Havanatur is working hard towards the recovery of participation fees as a group in visitor arrivals to the Island, where they concentrated more than 25% of the total tourists arriving in Cuba at the end of 2019, a goal to which we are focused on this 45th anniversary. As an operator we will work to achieve the goal that the country has set of 3.5 million visitors.
He later thanked all his service providers and the ministry delegation of tourism in this territory and to the Cubanacan hotel group for the support provided for the realization of MegaFam, which ends today with a great celebration at the Brisas hotel Guardalavaca, already considered a historical route.
For Havanatur, he assured, each client counts and we work for them, presenting Cuba as a unique destination that is worth visiting and daring to live that experience is a premise of constant work in the entire staff of its more than 700 professionals and for this we must and we will continue working.
Finally, he called for “you to join us this December 19 when we will be celebrating our 45 years of founding with the mission of promoting Cuba as a destination and maintain that maxim of being your travel specialist on the Island.” Francisco Suárez, delegate of Mintur, was also present at the press conference in the province of Holguín.
