Havanatur's Contribution to Gran Retto 2025's Success Recognized

Havanatur, Cuba's premier tour operator, was recognized this Sunday for its key role as the official receptive agency for the Gran Retto open water swimming event, held in Varadero this past weekend.

This fourth edition of Gran Retto saw the participation of 800 competitors, 200 more than in 2024, with an even higher number expected for next year.

According to Luis Mario Villarreal, the event's Mexican director, this edition solidified Gran Retto as a high-quality sporting competition.

"Great achievements are the result of collaboration, hence the importance of the partnership between Mexico and Cuba to ensure that the event improves in both quality and athlete participation each year," he recently stated.

Several records were broken at this year's event, notably that of Cuban Jhoen Lefont, a Guinness World Record holder for ball control, who managed to keep a soccer ball balanced on his head without it touching the water for 32:03:60 minutes.

Congratulations to all the winners and to everyone who made the event a success.
