Meanwhile, the Hotel is a National Monument and was inscribed in the Memory of the World Register.
Icon of Cuban architecture, its construction reveals the elements of the fashionable neoclassical style in Cuba at the beginning of the 20th century. Belonging to the Gran Caribe hotel chain, its managers have ensured that construction elements are respected during the restoration work.
Just over a year ago, the Hotel Nacional de Cuba began to prepare for the maintenance and renewal of its different spaces. At the end of the first quarter of this year, the world situation was overturned by the Covid 19 pandemic, conditioning the implementation with even more vigor this endeavor, making the most of time during this period.
Near the beginning of the high demand stage of foreign tourism in Cuba, contemplated during the months of November to April, the management of the emblematic hotel facility announced that it will be able to receive customers at the beginning of next November. For its part, the Quality and Public Relations Department ensures that the facility will comply with the new sanitary and hygienic measures during the post-Covid19 stage. The necessary social distancing in leisure spaces and the correct handling and safety of food and beverages are two of the main measures that will be taken.
