The Havana International Poetry Festival on Monday opened at the official opening ceremony its set of activities by presenting “Illusions” exhibition by Italian Eleonora Buselli.
The exhibition took place at the Main Hall of the Casa del Alba cultural center based in Havana.
With the purpose of turning this city into a reference point for this genre, several poetic meetings will be also held in other venues, such as the World Meeting of Poets in Defense of Humanity, Poets in the Face of War or The Struggle for Peace.
Cuban intellectual Alex Pausides, editor and poet, in charge of the opening speech, thanked attendees, nationals and foreigners, pointing out the festival is not just one.
Meanwhile, he spoke of the pressing need to come closer and join forces for a world full of solidarity and fraternity among human beings and not to create frontiers among peoples.
