Famous chefs from Italy and Cuba, as well as bartenders from the largest of the Antilles, gathered at the international culinary meeting held within the program of the San Remo Music Awards Cuba 2022 International Festival, that took place at the emblematic Hotel Nacional.
For three days, the chefs from both nations showed off their culinary skills with the presentation of typical dishes, including the exquisite Margarita pizza, prepared by Italian Giuseppe Lettieri, while the Cuban Diosdado González Ilizastegui was in charge of the appetizing roast pork.
On the other hand, Carlo Spina (Italy) presented his Risotto and Miguel &Aángel Jiménez (Spanish based in Cuba) prepared a recipe for fresh pasta, black bean flour, pesto sauce and moringa.
Desserts were also present at this meeting with the sweet thousand leaves with chocolate cream, made by master baker Yosvany Pérez (Cuba), while bartender Ernesto Luis Pérez participated with his Canchánchara cocktail and the flair show (free style).
Likewise, there were pairings and presentations of products from Cuban entrepreneurs, including sausages and hams from the Ruly mini-industry and the "Bormey" peanut house, which is dedicated to the preparation of foods derived from this grain.
During the days of culinary meeting there was great interaction between the professionals of the sector from both countries, which evidenced the friendship, brotherhood and ties that unite both kitchens.
In this regard, Eddy Fernández, president of the Association of Culinary Federations of Cuba, told the press this meeting reaffirms the links between Cuban cuisine, cultural heritage, and Italian cuisine, present in the roots of the former.
The San Remo Music Awards Cuba 2022, which ends this Sunday, includes in its program, in addition to concerts, the interpretation contest -with the participation of 16 young Cuban talents-, an international business forum and a fashion event.
