Latin America and the Caribbean Present at the Paris Tourism Show

The Amazon rainforest, the unmissable Machu Picchu, the beaches of Cuba and the Bahamas, and Chilean Patagonia are among the attractions promoted today at the start of the 48th edition of the Paris World Tourism Show.

As is traditional, Latin America and the Caribbean are participating in the general public event, which runs for four days at the Porte de Versailles exhibition center in the City of Light, this time with booths showcasing destinations in the Bahamas, Brazil, Cuba, Chile, and Peru. From Chile, the company Turismo Burgos invites French tourists to visit several glaciers and the Isle of the Dead, with different packages and lengths of stay.

Luz Gutiérrez, directoress of the tour operator Casas del Perú, stated that the South American country has many interesting destinations, beyond the famous Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Our offering is very varied and spans to various regions of the country, with the difference that we work with families, who are the ones who welcome visitors, she told Prensa Latina on the opening day of the World Tourism Fair in Paris.

From the Caribbean, Cuba and the Bahamas offer the French public the opportunity to share their natural and cultural beauty and the warmth of their people. In the case of the largest of the Antilles, Carmen Casal, representative of the Ministry of Tourism, expressed her expectations for the island's presence at the four-day event, based on the interest of many French people in its history and culture.

Latin American destinations are also promoted here by French agencies, such as Latinexperience, which sells tailor-made trips to 22 countries in the region. According to its promoters, the intention is not to compete with the large companies in the sector, but rather to provide personalized support to tourists under the concept that each traveler is unique.

The 48th edition of the Parisian show attracts nearly 40 nations from four continents, including Angola, Canada, Ivory Coast, China, Spain, the United States, Italy, Japan, Morocco, and Thailand.
