The Latino Institute of Music, chaired by Dr. Daniel Martin Subiat, and the prominent musician Giraldo Piloto, President of the &Drum Festival" have just agreed to join efforts of both institutions to strengthen that event and achieve greater world level connotation, as well as celebrate in 2021 two decades of the festival and the centennial of the Latino Institute of Music. A press release of the entity adds that at the next Drum Festival, to be held from March 23 to 29, this meeting will be recognized as an "International Excellence Festival" by the Institute, for its important contribution to the  preservation of Cuban and Latin American music traditions, in particular. The next meeting, which will be dedicated to Africa as guest, will be attended by prominent musicians from the host country, as well as from the United States, Latin America, Canada, Europe and, especially, from Africa.
