The magazines Cubaplus and Latin Cubaplus which have the aim to promote the Cuba destination in Canada, the United States, the Caribbean and Central America were launched today as part of the 27th International Book Fair’s activities that will close its doors next Sunday 11.
When speaking in the activity, carried out in the Serial Publication Pavilion of the Cuban Book Institute (ICL) in San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress, the General Director of the publication Dominic Soave, highlighted the work carried out by both magazines, co-published with the Latin Press News Agency, during the 10 years of having founded the English edition which has make possible to inform to the people interested in receiving updating and real information of the largest island in the Antilles concerning important events of sectors such as tourism, culture, sports and health, among other subjects.
As far as it’s concerned, the occasion was propitious to also present the Collection of Contemporary Cuban Art, the painters, sculptors and photographers’ compendium whose work has been promoted through those 10 years by both publications.
Mayda Tirado, magazine’s cultural adviser, said in this respect that this Collection constitutes a detachment from the pages that in Cubaplus and Latin Cubaplus are dedicated to promote the Cuban art in general, and where appear, not only the established, but also the new artists.
Likewise, the launching activity had the attendance of Mercedes Ramos, Cubaplus’ Permanent Correspondent in Cuba, Addrell Herrpinark, Director of ICL’s Serial Publications, members of the Cubaplus team and representatives of the Cuba Book Institute, as well as managers of different companies which are magazine’s clients, among others.
