Meliá Cuba will add six hotels to its portfolio of accommodation in the largest of the Antilles

Meliá Hotels International will operate another six accommodations in Cuba, thus consolidating its presence on the island as a leader in the country and in the Caribbean region. During the recently concluded 41st International Tourism Fair (FitCUBA 2023), Vice President and CEO of the Spanish chain, Gabriel Escarrer, announced the company's new projects and stated that "we have no doubt that Cuba will once again recover the levels prior to the crisis and you will be in better shape than ever.

For this reason, it is essential for us to continue improving our hotel portfolio on the island, promoting new quality experiences according to an increasing demand”. Meliá Trinidad Peninsula, one of the new accommodations, will open next fall and will be the first five-star hotel in the colonial town of Trinidad - declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO -, with more than 400 rooms with all the comfort and excellent services, ideal for families and couples.

On the other hand, in Varadero, the Sol Caribe Beach has just opened its doors, on the beachfront and with easy access to the urban center and shopping areas. With an All Inclusive service, it is specially designed for families, where any member will find the proposal that best suits their needs.

According to Escarrer, this year another 4 accommodations will also begin to operate. The first of these will be the INNSIDE Habana Cathedral, in the capital's square of the same name, with 50 rooms.

This completely new facility will mark the entry of INNSIDE by Meliá into the country's main city, a brand in which the most adventurous travelers will find an affordable proposal adapted to their spontaneous, informal and creative lifestyle.

The well-known Hotel Plaza de La Habana, with 188 rooms, also joins the list of the Spanish group. The iconic facility, inaugurated in 1909, famous for its neoclassical architecture and its triangular floor plan, will be incorporated into the exclusive portfolio of The Meliá Collection, Meliá's youngest luxury brand, which includes the most unique and charismatic hotels in the portfolio, strongly connected to the destination in which they are located.

Also in Havana, the company will assume the management of the historic Hotel Sevilla, located next to Paseo del Prado. This property, a true symbol in the heritage city, joins the Affiliated by Meliá network and has 178 rooms, a suggestive gastronomic proposal and multiple spaces that will provide guests with unforgettable memories of their time in the Cuban capital.

Finally, in Holguín, Meliá will manage the Sol Turquesa Beach hotel with 531 rooms, located in the middle of a magnificent natural landscape, on Yuraguanal beach. Its design simulates a Spanish hacienda from the late 19th century and stands out for its comfortable rooms and dining options.

Founded in 1956 in Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Meliá Hotels International has more than 400 hotels open or in the process of opening, in over 40 countries, and a portfolio of ten brands: Gran Meliá Hotels & Resorts, ME by Meliá, The Meliá Collection, Paradisus by Meliá, Meliá Hotels & Resorts, ZEL, INNSIDE by Meliá, Falcon's Resorts by Meliá, Sol by Meliá, and Affiliated by Meliá.

It is one of the world leaders in vacation hotels and its experience in this area has allowed it to consolidate itself in the growing market for leisure-inspired urban hotels.
