Meliá Trinidad Peninsula officially inaugurated

As part of the celebrations for the 510th anniversary of Trinidad, one of the colonial cities best preserved in Cuba and the Caribbean, this Meliá was officially inaugurated this Sunday. Trinidad Peninsula, a five-star establishment that marks the entry of the Spanish group in that destination. The ceremony was attended by Manuel Marrero, Prime Minister of Cuba; Juan Carlos García, Minister of Tourism; and Gabriel Escarrer, president and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, along with other authorities and collaborators. When speaking at the opening, García Granda referred to the Meliá Trinidad Peninsula as a hotel without precedents in south-central Cuba, whose technological advances make it a leading facility in the Caribbean region.

For his part, the Melia Hotels executive said this facility is part of the will to provide those who visit Cuba with the opportunity to visit the most important vacation enclaves, but also historical and cultural places of the country. “With Trinidad, there are now four cities marked as Cultural Heritage of Humanity in which we are present. Without a doubt, a special incentive for those of us as hosts and in an occasion that we wanted to take advantage to bring the traveler closer to the very essences of what is Cuban,” Escarrer added.

In turn, Juan Pereira, General Director of the hotel, highlighted the importance of the hotel experience as human capital that Meliá Trinidad Peninsula proposes to travelers and he said that “it is a team in which youth, talent and the desire to do things prevail. The hospitality, the kindness and joy of the Cuban people, but also, the familiarity and wisdom of the Trinitarians, constitute the very heart of this accommodation.”

Located on the beachfront, with wonderful views of the Escambray mountains, Meliá Trinidad Peninsula offers 401 rooms, 14 restaurants and bars and First Level service, where guests over 18 years of age enjoy exclusive attention. In addition, it specializes in serving groups, conferences and incentives, for which it has a special reception area and 5 rooms that total 1,391 m2 and can accommodate more than 1 400 people.

Sustainability and support for local development policies have been key principles in the conception, design and implementation of this accommodation.
