Minister of tourism inaugurates new hotel in Cuban destination

In the presence of the Cuban minister of tourism, Manuel Marrero, was officially inaugurated in this city, declared Humanity’s Cultural Heritage, the hotel La Calesa, belonging to the brand Encanto (Charm) and to the Cubanacan group. 

Located in the old part of the village, founded in 1514 by Diego Velazquez, the facility occupies a property which dates from just the colonial stage whose spaces were redesigned to accommodate 12 rooms, a pool and a bar - breakfast site. 

The Cuban Minister recognized the quality of those actions, undertake by the Tourism Service Company together with self-employed workers and valued in a million 600 000 pesos in total currency (approximately 64 000 dollars). 

According to Escambray newspaper’s report, Marrero was also interested in the hotel acceptance, which is operating since the last November with a high occupancy rate in the current tourism high season in Cuba, a period between November to April. 

Authorities of the Cubanacan group explained to the press that the facility encourages since its opening a familiarity atmosphere in the tourist treatment and also taking advantage of the place’s surroundings, near to Carrillo Square. 

Its construction started in December 2016 and its name makes reference to one of the well-known older means of transportation in Cuba. 

With the opening of La Calesa, there are currently six Encanto (Charm) hotels in the central province of Sancti Spíritus. In the Trinidad city are also located La Ronda and El Meson, while in the province’s capital are located Don Florencio, El Plaza and El Rijo. 

The tourist hotel facilities belonging to this brand are characterized by their reduced number of rooms as well as to be located in the old part of town of the main Cuban’s cities. 

Also well-known as E Hotels, they have as essential premise to offer a service with high quality standards and to promote the urban tourism in the biggest island of the Antilles.
