The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reiterated that foreign tourists who arrive on the Island and are positive to COVID-19 will receive adequate medical attention, in accordance with established protocols.
The information was released during the usual press conference offered every morning by the director of epidemiology of that entity, Dr. Francisco Duran, who also assured that every foreign visitor who arrives in the country undergoes the molecular PCR test (reaction in polymerase chain) in real time.
In the event that the result is positive for the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus, the patient will be admitted to a hospital and receive adequate treatment, he added.
He also explained that the focus control will also be carried out on all those who have maintained contact with the patient, in order to avoid the spread of the virus.
Cuba opened its borders to international tourism since July 1 in the Largo keys (south-west), Coco, Guillermo, Cruz, and Santa María (center-north) limited to those places, where you can also enjoy excursions, car rental and other services.
