Mother’s day, a worldwide celebration
Mother's Day, to be celebrated next Sunday, May 10 in Cuba, has a very special connotation for every human being, since it pays tribute to the one who gave us life, who is also the person who watches over each one of us until the end of her days. In Cuba, that tradition is always celebrated on the second Sunday of May. In the rest of the world this tribute is performed on different dates. The same day as in the Greater Antilles the tribute to the Mothers is also celebrated in: Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, (except North of Santander), Croatia, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Philippines, United States, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Peru, Puerto Rico, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay and Venezuela. On May 10, which coincides on this occasion with the celebration in Cuba, the celebration takes place every year in Belize, Qatar, El Salvador, the United Arab Emirates, Guatemala, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Oman, Pakistan, and Singapore. In other European, Asian, African and Latin American countries, this celebration takes place on other dates, but what cannot be doubted is that the purpose is the same: to pay a beautiful and well-deserved tribute to mothers.
