Trespassing the entrance of the Museum &Second Oriental Front Frank Pais" causes a great impression making it possible to relive the liberation war waged in that zone at the middle of last century.
During the tour of its halls, the visitor can know the events occurred in the zone where the front’s command settled from September to December, 1958 and which contributed to the liberation of 12 thousand square kilometers, belonging to Mayari Arriba, San Luis and Alto Songo, in the zone of Santiago de Cuba and to Yateras, Guantanamo and Baracoa.
The Central Museum, inaugurated on July 25, 1967, has 11 halls, as well as an outer área dedicated to the Rebel Air Force and extensions inaugurated in the years 2000 and 2003 in the sites where the departments of the Front were settled: Propaganda and Radio Communications, Sanity, Education and the site where the First Armed Farmers’ Congress was held. Also, part of this Historic Monumental Complex is the area dedicated to the Martyrs of the Second Front, founded on March 11, 1978.
Included in the Museum is the house known as &the little house of Vilma" built in 1947, which belonged to a rixch land owner. One of the rooms became personal office of Raul Castro, commander of the Second Front.
Also, visitors can find in the Museum, different objects belonging to the members of the Rebel Army, as well as the model of what the Second Front was in 1958, including the airplanes used, photos of the pilots and the rest of the members of the Rebel Air Force.
Besides everything that can be observed there, the facility has a 3D Screen –only museum in Cuba which has that technology- in which you can watch a documentary that reflects &real" images of the battles and fundamental events that happened in the zone and contributed to the revolutionary triumph of January, 1959.
