Positive results from the sports fair in Havana are highlighted

The positive results from the II International Sports Fair, organized this week in the Cuban capital, are now taking up space in the sports press of the Island.

"The professional phase was satisfactory due to the fulfillment of the proposed objectives," assured the digital publication Jit. Yadira González, general director of the commercial company Cubadeportes S.A., said this after the closing of the professional segment of the event yesterday.

The identification of opportunities in the sports business portfolio marked the agendas of 92 companies from Canada, Colombia, China, Spain, France, Guatemala, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Sierra Leone and the host country, which signed nearly one hundred agreements. González also considered among the benefits of the fair the opening of new markets and the realization of plans that have been worked on for several months.

She also highlighted the equal participation of national companies from the state and private sectors, whose products and services are of interest to the Cuban sports system. The official highlighted the agreements with the Gran Caribe hotel group, the mixed company Coracán S.A., the travel agency Sport Travel, the Centro de Inmunoensayo and the extra-hotel company Palmares S.A., entities that will contribute to the development of high performance and the rest of the levels of national sports.

The event program included various options for children and young people in the areas surrounding the Ciudad Deportiva colisseum, a legendary facility located in the capital of the Island that served as the venue for the fair, in addition to the presentation of books dedicated to the multi-champions Mijaín López and Omara Durand.

One of the indicators that confirms the success of this commercial and exhibition project for sports is that 62 percent of the participants in the first edition repeated their attendance. The first vice president of the National Sports Institute of the island, Raúl Fornés, said that each signed contract is a blow to the sanctions imposed by the United States government on his country, according to a report from the Cuban News Agency.
