The third edition of the Salsa Festival kicked off in Havana, encouraged by the main orchestras of Cuba’s popular dance music.
Will Campa’s grouping performed during the opening day on the stage of the Guayabera Cultural Center, placed in Alamar, in the eastern part of the city.
For the rest of the days the event program which concludes next February 25, announces to the most popular island’s orchestras like Van Van, Habana de Primera, El Niño y la Verdad, Alain Pérez, Adalberto Alvarez y su Son, Pupy y los que Son Son, and Maykel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor.
Also Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco, orchestra that celebrates 25 years of work.
Every night will go on stage four orchestras as main festival’s activity, although other activities complete the program like music workshops and visits to places related with the development of this artistic manifestation in Cuba, among them the Abdala record company and the Cultural Center located in the corner of 31 Ave. and 2 St., in the central Vedado.
