From "Satiago" to the world, the Septet Santiaguero rocked United States capital, with a sell-out presentation that shocked everyone. Washington Post's Fritz Hahn remarked "the effervescent percussion and brave brasses" of the songs in the latest Raiz (Root) album.
The Grammy Winners from Santiago de Cuba already performed in Cleveland, Philadelphia and Albany (New York), and soon will be taking Cuban son to the RB Festival of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.
Raiz, with 14 songs and two bonus tracks, has a great variety of Cuban musical genres and is a chronological tour in honor of great Cuban musicians whose work have been quite significant for the Septeto Santiaguero's career.
This album was made in luxury collaborations with universal jazz musicians such as Nicholas Payton and Arturo O'Farrill, prestigious salsa singers as Ruben Blades, Medoro Wood; Charlie Aponte and Alfredo de la Fe.
