Various aspects related to the rational use of antimicrobials will be the center of the V National Scientific Conference on the theme that will take place on the 12th and 13th of September next year at the hotel Melia Cohíba the capital of Cuba.

Among the main topics to be addressed are the behavior of microbial resistance in Cuba and at a global level; System of Pharmacovigilance focused on the microbial resistance in the country and in the world; Policy to combat antimicrobial resistance; The use and behavior of current antibiotics applied by different medical specialties; The economic impact of the use of antimicrobials in primary and secondary care and the current trends in  the global market of generics. New molecules and patents generated in the last five years.

Convened on March 8 under the theme For a Health for All, the event will center its debates in search of strategies for research and innovation of antimicrobials in the biopharmaceutical industry and the National System of Public Health that respond to microbial resistance. Cuba, among other important aspects linked to the theme of the city.

This important day is preceded by the participation of more than 100 researchers, scientists, doctors and professionals in the general health sector of the country from institutions such as the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), BioCubaFarma and its linked institutions, the Center for the State Control of Medicines, Equipments and Medical Devices (CECMED), the Institute of Tropical Medicine Pedro Kourí, pharmacies and universities, among others.
