Union Publishing House offers varied agenda in International Book Fair

 The Union publishing house, representing the institution that brings together to the Cuban writers and artists (UNEAC), announced great variety of titles and events to offer in the International Book Fair, set for February 1-11. 

After February 3, when the reserved stand for this publishing house will be opened, the organizers will launch the summoning for the Havana’s International Poetry Festival, followed by an exhibition of some audiovisuals by the UNEAC’s Development Documental Center Octavio Cortazar. 

The selection includes a space for the contemporary Chinese cinema, as part of the homages that will be carried out this year in the most important literary event in Cuba, in this occasion dedicated to the Popular Republic of China. 

In this section highlights the meeting that will be carried out in February 3 with the president of the Chinese’s Publishing House Jiangsu Phoenix, Literature and Art Publishing and Media Group, Huang Xiaochu. 

That publishing house is also a literature and art’s publishing company, and a media group in charge of to distribute books and other supplements, besides text printing, commercial supplies, among other deliveries. 

The company’s manager Huang announced the presence of a remarkable group of intellectuals and managers in the renewed Cuban fair, with the purpose to exchange with entities of our country about the literary work developed in China. 

Likewise, the work Palabras de Fuego (Fire Words) will be presented, by the writer Jidi Magla, with poems of Mao Tse-tung; and La voz que permanece (The voice that remains), of Fang Fang. 

Union Publisher’s program comprises also an homage to Ernesto Che Guevara for the anniversary 90th of its birthday. 

The work is titled Che: Recuerdos profundos (deep memories), by the writers and Cuban historians Froilan González and Adys Cupull, as well as the audiovisual Cien poemas al Che (A hundred poems to Che) and Sin perder la ternura (Without losing the tenderness). 

The publisher's agenda, belonging to the Cuba’s National Writers and Artists Union (UNEAC), also inserts theatre shows for children; shared readings for infants and young; spaces dedicated to the magic; an homage to the Cuban poet Eliseo Diego and to Jose Marti for the anniversary 165th of his birthday. 

Union publisher is specializing in books and magazines’ publication; it also publishes and diffuses, the work of the Cuban authors associated to the UNEAC, although without rules out the work of outstanding figures of the Cuban literature who, for their value in the arts history of this country, deserve frequently be reissued. 

This year the International Book Fair will also dedicate its edition to the doctor Eusebio Leal Spengler, Havana old city’s historian and outstanding intellectual, politician, essayist and investigator of this archipelago.
