United States Wins First, Second and Third Prizes at the 68th International Swordfish Tournament

Boats Mala Chica, Avimar and Unclaimed, of the United States, obtained first, second and third prizes at the recently concluded 68th International Swordfish Tournament “Ernest Hemingway”.

Also, the largest dorado captured was achieved by the Avimar crew of the United States, while the biggest tunide was caught by the Macondo III of Spain and the biggest Peto by the Fish N. ltis of Canada.

The contest had the participation of 23 boats: United States (7), Canada (3), Cuba (3), Mexico (2), France (2), Spain (2), Latvia, Puerto Rico, Bulgaria and Chile with one boat.

On this occasion, the closing of the event, at the Marina Hemingway in Havana venue, was the same of the first edition, disputed in 1950 and thus, personal objects of the great US writer who gives name to the tournament, treasured by the museum located at his former residence of Finca Vigia in the outskirts of the capital.
