Varadero Gourmet International Festival Celebrates its 15th Edition

The 15th edition of the Varadero Gourmet International Festival opened its doors this Thursday at the Plaza América fairgrounds. The central theme of this year's event is "Flavors Without Borders: The Magic of Fusion Cuisine with a Cuban Soul."

varadero gourmet.jpgSpeaking at the opening of the event, which will run until Saturday, Cuba's Vice Minister of Tourism, Adalberto Venero, stated that the festival aims to internationalize the country's culinary traditions. He added that it will provide a platform for sharing best practices with international visitors.

Furthermore, he noted that tourism is a strategic sector, evidenced by the significant interest, despite complex circumstances, in contributing to its growth and supporting the nation's development.

He then emphasized the commitment of the participants to the development of tourism on the island, adding that these efforts will continue to champion Cuban culinary culture as an expression of national authenticity.

Lázaro Darién Casabella, President of the Organizing Committee and General Director of the Palmares Extra-Hotel Company, highlighted the extensive agenda of the event, which includes competitions, conferences, culinary demonstrations, and pairings, among other activities.

He also mentioned a new addition to this year's edition: the inaugural International Franchise Workshop, organized by Palmares. This parallel event recognizes gastronomy as an economic driver and a means of exporting the country's culture and history.

This 15th edition of the Varadero Gourmet International Festival, organized by Palmares, enjoys the support of Cuba's Ministry of Tourism and the Cubasol business group, among other institutions.
