The International Athletics Federation (IAAF) will hand out the bronze medal won by the Cuban shot putter Misleydis González in the last Athletics World Indoor Championship, Valencia 2008, after the disqualification of the Belarus Nadzeya Ostapchuk, informed the entity.
González finished fourth in the Spanish competition, but the positive of Ostapchuk to the anabolic steroid methenolone in retroactive tests allowed her to ascend to the podium.
The European had reached the silver medal in that competition, just surpassed by the New Zealander Valerie Villi.
