World Tourism Day: Cuba updated

On September 27, 2023, as usual, World Tourism Day will be held again, this time under the motto “Tourism and green investments”, presented this year by the organization that unites professionals in the sector. Yes, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), when many people want to deeply reflect on actions viable and very effective in each project and national tourism investments, leading to sustainability, innovation and inclusion.

World Tourism Day: Cuba updated Still under the echoes of the acute consequences of the pandemic Covid-19, both managers and the simplest workers everywhere in the company called industry without chimneys, feel today challenged by enormous obstacles that cannot be overcome with one stroke of the pen.

Cuba is not an exception, because although there is a process of undeniable recovery underway, progress is not as expected and income must be improved, with the synchronization of multiple internal and external factors. That is why we continue to think that the care and conservation of Nature is a principle and a necessity, not only of society, but also current human life, also in the tourism sector that today shares with scientists, researchers, and national authorities,  the interest of preserving those values.

Because it is true that the Earth is creaking everywhere in the world, due to global warming and catastrophes, and should not wait to save her.  The UNWTO insists even more strongly on the need for the tourism development model of each nation be in line with investments and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Agenda 2030.

In this way, the development of tourism will also be reversed positively for people, planet health and prosperity, promoting education and skills, sustainable infrastructure, green transformation, innovation, technology and entrepreneurship.

World Tourism Day: Cuba updated With the contribution of a locomotive sector such as this sector, it will be able to continue increasing the possibilities of new jobs, taking care also that the natural balance is not altered, all in favor of reducing the serious problems that alter the climate and reinforce global warming. Although authorities and workers of that important industry are aware of how much remains to be done in the commitment to making “green tourism” consistent and at the height of the demands, they feel great satisfaction in working in a favorable framework.

For many years the country has had several ecosystems declared as a biosphere reserve, there is a network of large natural parks of national importance, protected by laws and scientific programs, botanical gardens, several protected areas and national natural monuments.

All its managers and workers speak, act and interact under the same budgets and similar interests. That way good results should continue to occur. Good World Tourism Day!
