Jardines del Rey. A paradise destination

The International Tourism Fair of Cuba - FITCuba 2024- will open the doors of this UNIQUE island, from Jardines del Rey, a seductive group of keys and islets located in the northern part of the Cuban archipelago. Dedicated this time round to Latin America and the Caribbean, this XLII edition of FITCuba will place a highlight on sailing, hotels and other services, in the midst of a friendly environment, where splendid beauty is treasured. This event, the most significant of Cuba’s leisure industry, will take place from 2 to 5 May 2024, four decisive days for those seeking opportunities, tourist benefits and commercial interests in this destination. Jardines del Rey is the third most important tourist region in the country and includes the well-known keys of Coco, Guillermo and Santa María. According to the Minister of Tourism at the closing ceremony of FITCuba 2023, Cayo Coco is currently the second sun and beach destination, after Varadero, for holidays in Cuba.

01-jardines-rey-1.jpgThere is nothing like the natural scenery of these small islands for recreation and practicing water activities, hiking, excursions and walks. Its beaches are inspiring and its seabed is safe and recommended for diving and snorkeling. All this is added to the exuberant vegetation that magically combines the di erent shades of tropical green that follow one a er another. For those who like maritime adventures, the keys of Jardines del Rey also have nautical points, diving centers, motorboats and jet skis. Outstanding and away from urban life, in wonderful nature and with a high quality hotel and supporting infrastructure, Jardines del Rey is also close to cities of tourist interest, such as Matanzas, Villa Clara, Sancti Spíritus, as well as to other interesting destinations, protected areas and ecological reserves. Cayo Coco, the largest of the archipelago, has dream beaches, the most outstanding of which are Flamenco and Prohibida. The first, a strip of fine sand, is met by a pleasant and calm sea. The second, seductive and little explored, stands out for its wide, preserved dunes. Its underwater landscapes have astonishing biodiversity, fully enjoyable, thanks to the visibility provided by the transparency of the water and the whiteness of the sand. Cayo Guillermo, on the other hand, focuses its virtues on the natural charms of its shores.

01-jardines-rey-3.jpgIts beaches, ideal for lying in the sun, invite you to enjoy a fresh piña colada while the peace and quiet of the place intoxicates the mind and pleasantly relaxes the body.

The most beautiful of these keys is Playa Pilar, with its calm sea and the highest dunes of the insular Caribbean, and Cayo Santa María, with one of the most fascinating landscapes in Cuba. Its beaches, serene, spacious and extraordinarily beautiful, are the prelude to an underwater universe that places the islet among the main destinations for recreational Caribbean diving. Among its natural assets is a coral reef, fertile in a diversity of underwater species, and Jardines del Rey is undoubtedly a destination for a king’s holiday, with 5 and 4 star all-inclusive hotels and resorts on the beachfront.

01-jardines-rey-5.jpgOver 27 of these facilities -only in Cayo Coco and Guillermo- are managed by the most important hotel chains in the world: Meliá, Iberostar, Muthu and Blue Diamond, among others, which o er travelers the highest standards of hotel services.
