XVII ExpoCaribe Fair begins in Santiago de Cuba

The XVII ExpoCaribe International Fair begins in this city, where one of the first activities will take place at the Santa Ifigenia patrimonial cemetery, a sacred site of the nation.

Early in the morning, the heads of national and foreign delegations will go to the necropolis to develop business meetings, product and service presentations, investment niches and export funds.

The opening ceremony will be held at the Heredia Convention Center, during which the Governor of the province of Santiago de Cuba, Beatriz Johnson, and representatives of Belize and Jamaica will be present.

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment of Cuba, Rodrigo Malmierca, will also intervene in this first day, which will include his presentation of the Business Opportunities with foreign investment and the exportable offer of Cuban goods and services.

Another significant moment will be the presentation by a representative of the Ministry of Economy and Planning on the general situation of the Cuban economy.

After 11 years without taking place and in the midst of a complex context, the summer 2019 event has become a point of reference, and in this 17th edition, after the negative impact of Covid-19 and the tightening of the U.S. blockade, the number of foreign participants will exceed 23 countries.
